Christian Dior S/S 2011 Haute Couture - Collections
50's Parisienne glamour at Dior.
Galliano surprises viewers by giving an aesthetic twist to spring at the opening of the Dior 2011 show. Reds and blacks draped across Karlie Kloss as she opens the show, similar to the the Purple frock she wore at the Fall 2010 show. The collection consisted of an elegant color scheme of pastel, some spring colors popped in and out. Dramatic silhouettes and an excess of glamor that I have been so longing to see. The couple dresses at the finale are incredible, I could just imagine the amount of time & effort it took to create this collection.
Tell me what you think. Did Galliano play it too safe?
Here are my favorite looks:

Christian Dior F/W Haute Couture 2010 - 2 (Collections)
Have you noticed the new banner "above"! Yes, it is CD Fall-Winter 2010. Here's the details from the collection. View my favorite looks from the previous post 1, here
Words - cannot possibly describe these incredibly fabulous and amusing details. Enjoy with your sense of sight.

A delightful twist to the somber color-palette of winter and definite start to the Paris couture shows. Galliano gives fall a much needed explosion of color and decadence. The inspiration was clear - in this collection "Florals!", also stemmed from the 1959 S/S "Tulip" Collection. Yards and yards of tulle and multi-hued fabrics feathered, ruched, and ruffled!

Resort 2011 (Collections)
Christian Dior Resort 2011: View the complete collection, here.

The ultra-feminine "Sixties Chic" collection consisted of a pastel color-palette, lavender, blush-pinks, pale orange and pale-blue. Galliano loves to play with gender, masculine silhouettes were introduced in the beginning of the collection, light grays, white, and black. Galliano romance was seen throughout the collection, soft ruffles, lace, organza, and grand embroidered couture gowns.
Jason Wu Resort 2011: View the complete collection, here.

A Parisian inspired collection, menswear short-suits, trousers, jabots, and coats. Plenty of Cocktail dresses with tailored coats, and floor-length gowns with daffodil print.
Alexander Wang Resort 2011: View the complete collection, here.

The classic Alex Wang silhouette is definitely incorporated, slouchy boyish knitwear fit the models in a tailored fashion. Sea-Foam greens, burnt-red, nuetrals, white, and black were Wang's color palette for his Resort 2011. A ton of ready-to-wear pieces that retailers will want to get their hands on!
Narciso Rodriguez Resort 2011: View the complete collection, here.

A beautiful streamlined collection, Rodriguez gives us simple elegant pieces, consisting of menswear fabrics. A predominantly black & white, splashes of blush-pink, and blue were introduced throughout the collection of 15 looks.
