Although FIDM (The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) is not my first choice in a Fashion education, I am going to try and win this competition for a one-year scholarship worth $23,000 to FIDM in Los Angles. I am entering the Fashion Design Project. Here are two of the designs I am entering, my inspiration and overall mood for the required seven piece collection is the Eighties, Grace Jones, Masculine-Tailoring, Skirt Suits, etc.

ReplyDeleteI'm also thinking about applying to FIDM and some other fashion schools, but for merchandising. But I'm currently stressing if I should mention my blog or not to them. Did you?
Mariam: Thanks so much, I use an Indian Ink Pen, and Prisma Colored Pencils, The second design has watercolor.

Brunch Girls: I would mention my blog. What other schools are you thinking of applying to?

Parsons, FIT, Pratt, maybe RISD, and it's a long shot but St. Martins in London. I'm also applying for the scholarship, but am doing the merchandising project.

ReplyDeleteHey I like your drawing style a lot, especially the models' expressions!
ReplyDeleteDid you mean the coat-dress in the first photo to be slightly asymmetric in length? What would the skirt in the second picture be made of? Feathers? It's very cute.

Those are gorgeous. I wish I could sketch-- drawing is not one of my talents.
ReplyDeleteOne of my regrets is not pursuing fashion for my degree, so I think that's amazing you're pushing to go to a fashion institute! What did you want to concentrate on?

Duck: Hey doll, thanks so much for the kind words. The the Coat-Dress is not supposed to be asymmetrical, I just wanted to emphasize on the movement. The skirt would be made of Faux-Fur and Feathers. I ordered some fabric swatches, I will be scanning those.
ReplyDeleteThnaks again, Duck!

Ire A: Thanks, The skirt is very popular, it is very playful and sweet!
